Exhibitions
Division
| Exhibitions Division is responsible for disseminating new information and
research results, including publications, exhibitions,
information, promotion of technology and international cooperation.
Primary publications include research reports, IOSH Journal, IOSH Newsletter, annual reports, and technical book series. These publications are sent to business units, government organizations, research institutes, IOSH-related associations, and government publication bookstores. Newly published materials are all available for free download, in order to spread IOSH research results and other information on occupational safety and health.
The subjects of new IOSH exhibition hall will be
research results first, and then we will replace it with some more
active and practical exhibition materials in 2002. A new 3-D cinema will be opened in order to improve the effectiveness of the exhibition. We will also cooperate with Department of Education, Executive Yuan and
open IOSH exhibition hall to secondary-school students for educational purpose. This will help them understand IOSH in workshop, and lower the possibility of occupational injuries during their part-time jobs, even
when they are graduated from schools.
The objective of library and information
services is to provide technical information internally and externally.
The library has a collection of volumes (foreign and local) on
occupational safety and health, IOSH-related journals and audio/video
clips. Catalog for IOSH's library collections can be queried via
Internet. The IOSH WWW services include: databases of IOSH experts,
research abstracts, methods development and analysis, MSDS,
anthropometric data, labor insurance statistics. Publication download
services and an online IOSH forum are also available.
IOSH's research results are provided as references for the formulation of policies and amendments of regulations. These results are also circulated through publications, Internet or exhibitions. Those that have patents or technical know-how are authorized or transferred to the industrial community for promotion to benefit the labor force. At present, transferable research results include ergonomic chairs for highly mobile jobs, improved designs of safety helmets, industrial ventilation designs and computer software for inspection and review and approval, typical cranofacial manikins, and personal samplers.
Since the establishment of IOSH, it has continued to participate in activities held by international organizations and international interchange and cooperation, to ensure that the standard of local occupational safety and health and research can continue to develop along the international trends. Currently, it has established interchange and cooperation channel with 58 related academic organizations in 20 countries, including USA, Japan, Germany, etc. Through exchange of information, exchange of visits between research personnel and holding of international conferences, one hopes to strengthen cooperative relationships. Inviting experts from Taiwan, USA, Canada, Japan, Austria, Sweden and Australia to discuss problems on rights to working environment. |
